About The Pennsylvania School of the Performing Arts
History
The Pennsylvania School of the Performing Arts was founded in 1996 by professional dancer and Broadway performer, Terri Garcia-Lee, mother of Broadway Actress Paloma Garcia - Lee . Since then, the school has grown into the area’s most prominent and influential training center for the performing arts. Located in eastern Pennsylvania, and commissioned as the official training branch of Spirit in Motion Ballet Theater (SIMBT), PSPA studios is committed to providing the community with access to the finest dance and performing arts training available.
In its over twenty-two years of operation, The Pennsylvania School of the Performing Arts has helped hundreds and hundreds of children achieve their performing arts dreams and have watched alumni go on to successful professional careers on Broadway, in the Rockettes, and various professional ballet companies.
The PSPA School
Studies indicate that the proper training in dance and music often provide a key element in helping children and young adults discover well-balanced physical and emotional development in all areas of their life. PSPA incorporates the high standards of New York Professional dance studios into a non-competitive environment that nurtures and encourages students to express themselves through the beautiful images of theater, ballet, jazz. modern and contemporary dance.
Our teaching staff is comprised of arts professionals including Broadway Equity performers, master ballet instructors from Russia's Bolshoi Ballet Company, Pennsylvania Rock School, Princeton Ballet, New York City Ballet, The Joeffry Ballet, The Alvin Ailey Dance Company, and Steps on Broadway . We also offer a number of master class series throughout the year with master teachers such as Debbie Roshe from Steps on Broadway Todd Shanks, and Bill Hotaling from Manhattan Dance Project. The Fancy Fig Café and Catering
The Fancy Fig is a family owned cafe. We started out as caterers 10 years ago and just recently opened a small restaurant to run both our Catering and new cafe out of in Wrightstown PA. They are a local family so we love supporting other local businesses. They use local foods and products. Stop by and visit the Fancy Fig right across from the dance studios at Pspastudios in the Gathering at Penns park! You'll feel at home as soon as you walk in.
